The PvM Talent System gives every character its own progression path from level 1 to 50, completely separate from skills, stats, and PvP. It’s character-specific, not account-wide.

The leveling and point-spending infrastructure is implemented — you can earn XP, level up,
and allocate points in the [Talents screen right now. But no talent’s actual combat bonus is
active yet. Allocating points today doesn’t change your damage, healing, mitigation, or
anything else in a fight. This is intentional, documented infrastructure-first sequencing, not a
bug — see PvM-Only Restrictions for exactly what that means in
practice.
How you earn XP
- Open-world PvM counts. Killing an eligible monster anywhere — not just inside the dungeon — awards XP based on that monster’s difficulty.
- Dungeon kills count too, with a bonus. The same kill inside an active Azerite Dungeon run awards extra XP scaled by that run’s Keystone level, on top of the normal amount.
- A successful dungeon completion awards a flat XP bonus to every participant. A Failure (late) completion awards none — but any kill XP you already earned during that run is kept regardless.
- Taming-and-releasing a creature just to farm its death doesn’t work — a released creature grants no XP for a short window afterward.
- Death costs you nothing. There’s no XP loss on death, ever, and leveling up only grants points to spend — it never changes your stats directly.
The level curve, roughly
Leveling is fast early and substantially slower later:
| Levels | Pace |
|---|---|
| 1–10 | Points land roughly every 30 minutes of normal play |
| 11–30 | Noticeably slower, but still a clear sense of progress every session |
| 31–50 | The long tail — this stretch is aimed at players pushing higher Keystone levels, not a casual requirement |
Exact XP numbers are server-tunable and may be adjusted during testing — treat this table as a feel description, not a promise.
