The only firsthand source: the dungeon’s reward roll

Every completed Azerite Dungeon run — Success or Failure — rolls for a Minor Artifact drop among the party’s eligible members (see Completion & Rewards for exactly who counts as eligible). It’s not guaranteed: depending on party size, a run can produce zero, one, or occasionally two artifacts. Bigger parties get noticeably better odds — a full 5-player group has meaningfully higher expected drops than a bare 3-player group.

Everyone else: the player economy

Because Minor Artifacts are never bound, a completed run isn’t the only way to end up holding one — buying, trading, or receiving one as a gift all work exactly like they would for any other item. This is intentional: itemization in AzeriteUO stays inside UO’s normal economy rather than being walled off into a separate, untradable system.

What you can’t do

  • You can’t buy a guaranteed artifact from an NPC vendor.
  • You can’t choose which artifact type you get from a drop roll — identity is randomized at the moment it drops.
  • You can’t convert Ichor currency directly into an artifact — Ichor only upgrades one you already own. See Upgrade Resources: Ichor.
